I woke up this morning to a smarmy radio ad extolling Governor Walker's proposed tax refund. It's too bad the millions spent on these propaganda spots couldn't fill potholes, repair leaky school roofs or replenish municipal salt supplies. Those things take tax money.
Deep pocket donors can spend money anywhere they like, but tax money should go where it's needed - spent with common sense for the common good. It shouldn't be dribbled back to taxpayers like snake oil to enhance the prospects of shifty Republican politicians. Right now we need responsible, bipartisan leadership far more urgently than token tax refunds. Those obnoxious radio ads can be fixed with a slap at the "snooze" button.
