A controversial proposal to build a new Kwik Trip at the corner of Bridge Street and Stevens Drive is gaining traction again after a city commission voted against it and it was removed from a council agenda.

The city's Economic Development Committee discussed the proposal Tuesday with developers Chuck and Chris Ghidorzi. Although the body did not make a formal recommendation, the four council members present voiced support for the project, although some said they still are on the fence.
