A revamped entrance and a more user-friendly child care center are two highlights of a planned $2.3 million expansion project at the Wausau branch of the Woodson YMCA.

The project, scheduled to get underway this spring, will add a two-story, 6,000-square-foot annex to the Y's north building at 707 Third St.

Part of the space will serve as the new location for Mini Care, where parents can drop off their kids while they work out. The center is being moved to bring it closer to the building entrance and make it easier for parents to access, said Woodson YMCA Branch Director Brian Krueger. ...
