Alliance Laundry Systems on Thursday received Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce's Investing Locally, Growing Globally Award at the organization's annual Wisconsin business recognition program.

Headquartered in Ripon, where the company recently completed a major expansion, Alliance Laundry Systems has grown into one of the world's leading commercial laundry manufacturers in the world.

Alliance completed its $23 million plant expansion of it's Ripon manufacturing plant in September and is now planning a second $46 million expansion. The company employs more than 1,600 people in Ripon, where it added people in almost every department during 2013. In announcing the award, WMC pointed out that Alliance is strategically expanding its presence in the consumer market, both domestically and in emerging markets.

Alliance is bringing the concept of laundromats, with all the convenience and improved hygiene and quality of life they provide, to emerging markets around the world. This dramatic international initiative is fueling manufacturing and employment growth in Wisconsin, according to a WMC press release.

The company also won a special Manufacturer of the Year award in 2012 for its market leadership

Alliance Laundry was one of nine Wisconsin companies awarded a Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award on Thursday.

Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac won the award in the mega-manufacturer category.
