Letters to the editor: School district funding needs to finally catch up

2:16 PM, Feb. 27, 2014  |  Comments

The newspaper article from Feb. 12 "Referendum dollars critical for health of schools" was an excellent article. I understand the school district wants to be able to pass a referendum people will support the current $27.5 million. I would like to know and everyone should know how much is actually needed for the school district to be at the head of the class. I am guessing it is $40 million.

I wonder how many Webster Stanley Playground Equipment issues are out there in every school. I know Webster Stanley is making a fund raising push to get the playground completed this summer. A person can donate at the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation and visit their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/WebsterStanleyPlaygroundFundraiser. I guess more education of the public is needed about what was not done over the last ten years and how to catch up.
