Two Wausome Wafers boxes of cheese crisps are on display Friday at Lil' Ole Winemaker Shoppe in Wausau.
They're gluten-free, sugar-free and carb-free cheese crisps that are low in sodium and high in protein.
They're called Wausome Wafers and they're the brainchild of Wausau's Brian Gunning, who started Wausome Foods in January 2013 and began production on the wafers 11 months later in an 800-square-foot facility on Rookery View Drive in Rib Mountain.
The fledgling business continues to add retail outlets where the crisps are sold - they're up to 13 locations ranging from Nevada to Connecticut - and recently secured a coveted contract with Whole Foods. ...
