Council slated to decide on pool repairs

More than two years after the Oconto City Council voted to close Aageson Pool, aldermen are scheduled to decide this month whether to spend about $40,000 on repairs and renovations so it can reopen this summer.

The decision comes nearly a year after Oconto residents overwhelmingly approved an advisory referendum that asked if the pool should be repair if the cost doesn't exceed $50,000.

"I hope they're finally going to look at it and proceed with the people's wishes," said Mayor Victoria Bostedt. ...
