Girls Basketball Roundup: Algoma, Kewaunee prep for post-season debuts

The WIAA girls basketball tournament kicked off March 4 with Luxemburg-Casco losing a regional quarterfinal game to Manitowoc Roncalli 47-40.

Defending Divison 4 state champion Algoma and defending Division 3 champ Kewaunee each received first-round byes. The top-seeded Wolves (20-2, 14-0 Packerland) host No. 4 Manitowoc Lutheran while the No. 4 seed Storm (9-13, 8-6) will host No. 12 Chilton on March 7.

Manitowoc Lutheran edged Gibraltar 68-66 and Chilton advanced with a 25-13 upset of No. 5 Southern Door on March 4.Seymour 43, L-C 41 ...
