Jacksonport Town Chairman Al Birnschein said this week he would like to thank taxpayers for voting "yes" on the Lakeside Park expansion referendum 2½ years ago.
The closing was held this week for the purchase of what has long been known as the Butler property, which adds 200 feet of shoreline to the park in downtown Jacksonport. The town obtained grants to cover $709,000 of the $755,000 purchase price.
