Forestville streetlights could start going back up later this year

Several Forestville residents told the Village Board this week it's too dark in their community and asked the board to find money to put back some of the streetlights taken down two years ago.

"If we had streetlights, it would be a deterrent to thefts," resident Mary Bilodeau told board members Monday. "I think the cost of putting the lights back up (estimated at $600 to $700 each) and maintained is more feasible than having people marauding through the village."

Don Hucek said he had a light near his home on Gaede Road for 39 years that was removed by Village Board vote two years ago. ...
