Winter storms and freezing temperatures forced the cancellation of hundreds of Red Cross blood drives resulting in thousands of uncollected blood donations. In an effort to help the Red Cross restock its supply, the Holyland community will be hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, March 18.
Persons who are healthy, at least 17 years old (age 16 with parental consent) and weigh a minimum of 110 pounds are eligible to give blood.
Blood donations will be accepted at Maximillian's in Mount Calvary, from 11:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. All blood types are needed to help replenish blood supply for patients. Walk-ins are welcome.
Donors will be treated to a light lunch, compliments of Holyland area contributors and volunteers.
