Fox Cities businesses augment their websites with Facebook pages or are now increasingly skipping websites all together and just having Facebook pages.
But creating that page doesnít mean a lot unless someone at the company tends to it, engages with fans and keeps posts lively. Itís common to click on a page and find it hasnít been updated for a year or more.
Question for readers: What local companies do the most interesting job on their Facebook pages? Which ones do you go back to often because thereís always something worth seeing? Please note that my question isnít who has a Facebook page because that answer is nearly everyone.
Iím interested in local pages with high levels of engagement. Examples might be a business like Orange Leaf that gives a password every so often for one-day discounts, or restaurants like Kangaroost that put up daily specials. Appleton Downtown and Avenue Jewelers post often with promotions or viewer questions.
Some pages reach an amazing number of fans. Both Bergstrom Automotive and the Fox River Mall, for example, have more than 20,000 ďlikes,Ē which are connections with fans. Post-Crescent Mediaís page and Midwest Workwear are growing and hover around 8,000 likes.
