The agent for tight end Andrew Quarless said plenty of NFL teams have called with interest in his client, but he isn’t ruling out Quarless re-signing with the Green Bay Packers before the start of free agency on Tuesday afternoon.

Chris Cabott, Quarless’ agent, said he has talked with seven other teams about Quarless and that he also has been in regular contact with the Packers.

Free agents could start negotiating with other teams at 11 a.m. Saturday but can sign only with their previous team until the free-agent signing period opens at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

“I have a deep love and appreciation to the Packers organization,” Cabott said. “We’ve been talking a lot. We’ll see. Who knows (if he’ll re-sign with the Packers before free agency)?”

The Packers completed one deal just before the start of free agency when they signed cornerback Sam Shields to a four-year deal worth $39 million on Saturday night.

Quarless, who played 61.8 percent of the Packers' offensive snaps last season, is one of two Packers tight ends about to hit free agency. The other is starter Jermichael Finley, who’s coming off neck fusion surgery and is likely to be evaluated by the Packers’ medical staff in the next few days to determine whether it will clear him medically.

The Packers reportedly also have an interest in Houston tight end Garrett Graham, who will be a free agent.
