Daycare provider charged with injuring infant

Charges have been filed against a Birnamwood daycare provider accused of spanking an infant hard enough to cause bruising and abrasions to the child's back.

Carla Blood, 45, is due March 20 in Marathon County Circuit Court to face a felony charge of child abuse. Charges were filed Thursday, when a judge issued a summons for Blood to appear. Blood has not been arrested and is not in custody.
