Letters: High-capacity well bill should be opposed

4:21 PM, Mar. 10, 2014  |  Comments

Thomas Lager's letter to the editor asks Sen. Michael Ellis to vote against Senate Bill 302. Mr. Lager is right on.

Our groundwater isn't a "forever resource," as we're beginning to understand. It's common sense that, when high-capacity wells are being permitted, an oversight survey be done that will assess whether landowners in the area are affected and submit permits only if all landowners are protected.

Like Mr. Lager, we urge Sen. Ellis to do the right thing and vote against Senate Bill 302.

Bob and Jean Spiegelberg,

Neenah
