After the recent string of train- and vehicle-related crashes at two downtown railroad crossings, the Marshfield City Council voted Tuesday night to finance additional traffic signal upgrades.

The upgrades will cost about $22,000 to change the traffic lights at the six railroad crossings along Veterans Parkway.

After the third crash in less than two months, city officials met in February with state transportation, federal railroad and Canadian National Railway officials to discuss the safety issues, said City Engineer Tom Turchi in a previous interview. ...
