More than two months after the fatal shooting of a 27-year-old man outside a Wausau tavern, prosecutors filed homicide charges Tuesday against the only publicly named suspect in the case.

John M. Lewis, 30, of Wausau faces 25 felony charges filed in Marathon County Circuit Court in connection with the Jan. 3 shooting outside Sidetracked Bar, 818 S. Third Ave. Police say Lewis shot and killed KC Elliott with a .22-caliber pistol during an argument about money.

Marathon County Circuit Judge Jill Falstad ordered Lewis held on a $1 million cash bond. ...
