What's Up: Care center for dementia patients to open in fall

A local assisted living and rehab facility will make a significant addition to its facility later this year with the construction of a new memory care center.

Stoney River Assisted Living and Rehab will break ground March 27 on a 23,000-square-foot memory care community center at 7704 Franciscan Way in Weston.

Located near Stoney River's current campus, the standalone facility will accommodate 30 patients and will cater directly to those suffering from Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, said Michele Norrbom, assisted living manager at Stoney River's Weston campus. ...
