Physical trainer Sarah Riley demonstrates a lunge with TRX bands in the Fitness Studio of the Woodson YMCA Wausau Branch. TRX is a bodyweight training method that uses a suspension system.

? Stand up straight with one leg back and the foot cradled in the TRX strap. Your weight is on the other leg.

? Dip the body downward to a lunge, making sure the knee is not positioned past the toe.

? Repeat the movement going up and down for 30 seconds to one minute. Try to perform 15 lunges per leg and challenge yourself to increase to three sets of 15.

TIP: You can mimic the movement with your leg balanced on the second tread of stairs at home, or use a chair.
