The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Northeast Region announced a public involvement meeting Tuesday to discuss design concepts for a proposed improvement project on Wisconsin 57 from south of County Q in Baileys Harbor to Wisconsin 42 in Sister Bay. Construction is scheduled for August-November of 2016.
The meeting will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Baileys Harbor Town Hall, 2392 County F, Baileys Harbor. A brief presentation is scheduled for 5:45 p.m.
The purpose of this meeting is to review and gather comments from the public on DOT's plans for the project. Persons with information regarding privately owned utilities, drainage facilities, or structures that encroach into the highway right-of-way are encouraged to attend this meeting or provide comments. DOT staff will be available to discuss the project details.
? Milling and resurfacing Wisconsin 57 57 from the south County Q intersection to Wisconsin 42
? Replacing the existing culvert pipes within the project limits
? Milling and resurfacing Wisconsin 57 from the south County Q intersection to Wisconsin 42
? Replacing the existing box culvert between Ahrens (Cedar) Road and Meadow Road with a bridge structure
? Minor grading to improve drainage in the following locations:
? 200 feet of ditching along the east side of WIS 57 approximately 800 feet north of the south County Q intersection
? 100 feet of ditching along the east side of WIS 57 approximately 400 feet south of Sun Plaza Road
? Installation of 300 feet curb and gutter along the west side of Wisconsin 57 approximately 300 feet north of Settlement Road
Wisconsin 57 will be closed during the project and traffic detoured, though access will be maintained to all businesses and residences throughout construction. Wisconsin 57 will be open for Fall Fest weekend.
