Wausau West choral director Phillip Buch to retire at end of school year

The longtime Wausau West High School choral teacher who stood in the center of last fall's religious-music controversy will retire at the end of this school year.

Phillip Buch, who has directed West's choral programs since 1981, said he'll leave the school "with nothing but the best of memories of my time with the Wausau School District" and is "thankful for the support I've received in my 33 years in Wausau."
