Update: Woman in Wausau dog-torture death sentenced to prison

A judge on Monday was not moved by a 22-year-old woman's claim that heroin use led her to torture and kill her boyfriend's dog, a 4-year-old Laborador/shepherd mix named Mary that died in a pool of her own blood.

Sean Janas was sentenced Monday to 1 years in prison followed by nine months in jail and two years extended supervision on felony animal mistreatment charges. Janas was given credit for 447 days served and will spend 100 days in prison before she is transferred back to Marathon County to begin her jail term.
