Waterstreet declares candidacy for sheriff

Longtime Deputy Carl R. Waterstreet has declared his candidacy for Door County sheriff, succeeding Terry Vogel who has announced he won't seek a fourth term in November.

Waterstreet, who joined the Sheriff's Department in 1991, currently serves as the officer in charge of the day shift. He is also a member of the Door County Crash Team and an incident command operator, and he has served on the SWAT team in the past.

He was a candidate for sheriff in 2000 but chose not to run two years later when Sheriff Charles Brann retired. ...
