On April 1, Ashwaubenon residents vote to determine the village's future. As a community, we will decide whether to replace nearly half-century-old village facilities or let them decay because they were good enough decades ago when they were relatively new and met the antiquated safety requirements of that era.
Currently, conditions favor replacement due to age of the facilities, years of research by the village in getting a right fit between community needs and wants, favorable financing rates, and passing the point of diminishing returns on facility maintenance. This window will not remain indefinitely. There are compelling reasons to move forward with four projects, not the least of which are quality of life and positive impact on sustaining or increasing local home values by making our village more attractive to future homeowners and businesses to locate here.
The yearly costs for residents to reach this future are modest. The costs of stagnation by not modernizing are much higher. While resident polling shows favorable majorities, do not assume others will vote the same way, so make your vote count at the polls or through an absentee ballot. Vote Yes 4x!
