With Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb in the final year of their contracts, re-signing the two star receivers will be a priority for the Packers.
With two of their other receivers in line for contract extensions this year, the Green Bay Packers were unwilling to pay receiver James Jones a contract similar to or slightly better than the one he just finished with them.
Jones' three-year contract with the Oakland Raiders signed Monday averages $3.33 million and includes $3.8 million in first-year pay, according to a source with access to NFL salary information. The deal he just completed with the Packers also was for three years, averaged $3.2 million a season and paid $3.75 million in the first year.
