EDITOR: I was pleased to see Tom Neal step up as a candidate for Wausau City Council District 4 in the April 1 election. He brings important attributes and skills to the table that will make him a real asset to Wausau city government.

First and foremost, Tom is a communicator and that's an area in which our city could use some help. Working in marketing and communications as he has, Tom understands the need to engage people in order to reach goals and move forward.

But it's not all just about talk. He also has great insight into how organizations position themselves to successfully compete by "walking the talk." He understands how policy decisions can either contribute or detract from our image as a community. That starts with having a vision and a consistent approach toward trying to achieve it.

I have had the opportunity to work with Tom on positive, community-building projects over several years and I know him to be a solid, collaborative person with great analytical ability who listens and contributes thoughtfully. Tom Neal's participation will be a great benefit to the Wausau City Council and I urge residents of District 4 to support him in the April 1 election.

Jim Rosenberg,

Wausau
