Menominee, Oconto Falls in finals of Hi-Q

Teams from Menominee and Oconto Falls finished 1-2 to qualified for the final round of Hi-Q 's 2014 season.

Oconto Falls scored 52 points in its final match of the year on March 13 - the highest of any team the season - to claim second place with 132 points, edging Gillett by one point.

Menominee finished the year with 135 points in the competition that tests student knowledge and study habits in a wide range of typical high school courses. Eighteen teams in northeast Wisconsin and upper Michigan compete in Hi-Q.

For third place, Gillett will host the semi-final match at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, against Wausaukee and Marinette. The winner advances to the two match regional championship.

The first final match will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 8 in Oconto Falls, with the second match in Menominee at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9.

The team with the highest total score over the two days wins the Hi-Q championship title.
