A year ago, City of Oconto residents voted on a referendum the reduce the city council to six members.

This year, they will again face a choice on the organization and operation of the city - whether the mayor or the council should appoint the city attorney.

The job had been an elected post until 2011, when council changed it to the format commonly used in Wisconsin: appointment by the mayor with approval by two-thirds of the council. ...
