A solar project involving local school districts is designed to save energy costs, help the environment and engage students in hands-on science.
Solar electric panels will be installed at Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School, Assumption High School, John Edwards High School in Port Edwards and Nekoosa High School. Mid-State Technical College Foundation is the fiscal sponsor of the $45,000 grant, and Incourage Community Foundation facilitated and coordinated the collaboration. Ten businesses will be involved in the project.
