19 arrested in sting targeting sexual predators

Suspects include city of Wausau employee, other locals

Nineteen men, including several from central Wisconsin, one of whom works for the city of Wausau, were arrested in a three-day police sting that targeted adults who used the Internet to prey on children.

The 19 were picked up Thursday, Friday and Saturday in a crackdown on sex predators by 11 police agencies. They dubbed the sting, run from the Brown County Sheriff's Office, Operation Vanguard.

The arrests announced Monday included that of Shawn M. Raasch, a 40-year-old Shawano man who told authorities he is a school bus driver in Shawano County, according to documents released by Brown ...
