United Way honors Parks as top volunteer

Pamela Parks came to the United Way of Door County annual meeting on Thursday evening to stand in for her husband, Jarrod, who was being approved as a new member of the board of directors while on a business trip to South Carolina.

What she didn't know was she was also there to receive the Bob Stiefvater "Magnificent" Award as the United Way volunteer of the year.

Parks raised her hands to her mouth as board president Don Albert described the attributes of this year's award winner and grew increasingly more specific about her work in her children's school and 4-H club, at the church her family ...
