The math department at Tri-County Area Schools has been revamped during the past two years by using creative problem solving and collaboration by members of the department, said Nick Marti, principal for grades seven through 12.

"They initially designed a system of acceleration for our most gifted mathematics students, which takes place in middle school," Marti said.
