Marian University will be hosting more than 30 sessions on Wednesday, April 9 beginning at 8 a.m. as part of its 11th annual Academic Symposium.

The Academic Symposium will include a wide range of speakers and panels. Panels session topics include: "Inequality: Impact on Quality of Life," "The American Dream and the Environment," "Generational Perspectives on the American Dream" and "Some Assembly Required: How Literary Voices Can Help Us Construct the Future American Dream."

In addition, a feature of the symposium includes a book discussion on Tom Shadyac's recent book, Life's Operating Manual. Shadyac, known for such movies as Liar, Liar and Bruce Almighty challenges the common view of the "American Dream" in an easy to read, invigorating way. Copies of the book are available at Marian's Cardinal Meyer Library. The public is invited to read the book and join in the discussion.

All sessions are free and open to the public. For the full schedule and more information on the symposium visit: www.marianuniversity.edu/academic symposium.
