The Gottfried Prairie and Arboretum will host the first of a new series of programs for the public at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 16. Molly Fifield-Murray will be our speaker. She will explain how nature's example can be used to create beautiful, diverse gardens, drawing upon species naturally adapted to our area. She will cover plant choices, planting methods, soil characteristics and design.

Fifield-Murray has been the outreach and education manager at the UW-Madison Arboretum for 21 years. She was trained in landscape restoration and native garden design by Darrell Morrison and Evelyn Howell who are both considered to be leaders in the field. Molly has taught and designed native wildflower gardens as both an educator and design consultant.

The program is free and open to the public. UW Fond du Lac is located at 400 University Drive in Fond du Lac. Enter main doors and follow the signs leading to the right for Room UC114 University Center.
