How can our community members feel safe when we have clusters of sex offenders living in our inner city? I feel this is a recipe for disaster. This is unnecessary and these sex offenders should be more evenly spread across the entire city. We have to ask the question why the Department of Corrections is contracting mainly with landlords in the central city. And who do these rental properties belong to. How much taxpayer money goes to the same landlords?
We as hardworking citizens shouldn't have to standby and watch as out property values decrease because large numbers of sex offenders live in and around neighborhoods. Just ask yourself how long does it take for a sexual assault to occur. And I don't think you'll be comfortable with the answer.
