Micah Hyde thought his days returning kickoffs were over once he graduated from Ohio's Fostoria High School.

So you can imagine the 23-year-old cornerback's surprise when he was told to handle the next kickoff during a Nov. 4 showdown against Chicago.

It might have been unorthodox to deploy a rookie who hadn't been used in that role in five years, but little about the Green Bay Packers' 2013 special teams was conventional. ...
