Packers safeties coach Darren Perry talked about first-round draft pick Ha Ha Clinton-Dix:

*He's got versatility you look for at safety. He can play in deep zone, play at line of scrimmage. He's tough and plenty smart. Football IQ is where you would like it to be.

*On how it helps Morgan Burnett: We'll have to wait and see. When you surround guys with competitiors, guys sense that. Competition will help us as defense.

*In this system you would like to have versatility. You like his size and physical-ness. He can run and tackle.

*Outside of combine, that was extend of my interaction with him.

*At Alabama, Nick Saban puts lot of pressure on guys, especially safeties. We spent great deal of time talking to him. Feel good about his football IQ. Training at Alabama should help him.

*Best safety in draft? We like him. Felt we got good football player with Ha Ha.

*It's about making Packers better, whatever player that was going to be. We feel good about what we got.

*I don't put lot of stock in numbers. He's got first-round talent. His play on football field opened our eyes.

*This kid has enough ability, we'll help him get there. Morgan and other guys will help him.

*He made calls at Alabama. We talked football, getting feel for where he's at mentally, we felt good about that. He's been exposed to a lot.

*Burnett forced into role as strong safety, but has ability to play both. Competition should be great and will bring out best in everybody.

*We feel good about his work ethic, I'll have my work cut out for me.

*He's got a really good frame on him right now. Plays fast and physical. So much will depend on how well and fast he picks up little things.

*We have to be better. Last year we weren't good enough. That starts right here with me. It's going to be great challenge, we will be better.

*Micah Hyde is guy we like, he's got ability and versatility, can play a number of positions.

*You love challenges. I'm going to try not to screw him up. He's got talent, you want to maximize it, let chips fall, should be fun and exciting.
