Packers second-round draft pick Davante Adams shared his thoughts with the media Friday night:
*Feel I'm one of best playmakers and red zone threats in this draft.
*Wait was pretty brutal. Sat around yesterday waiting. Couldn't be happier with where I ended up.
*My family was extremely excited and happy. Dream come true. Couldn't be in a better place.
*My mom, dad, 3 cousins, one of my friends from Fresno, girlfriend, 2 uncles, agent and marketing guy were with me.
*Aaron Rodgers has always been one of my favorite QBs, proven to be best QB in league. Just like in college, our QB, made my job easier.
*I didn't watch James Jones growing up. Since I've been in college, we've talked multiple times, somebody I look up to. We have little different parts of our game. He has great qualities.
*Talked to Packers at combine, that was about it. Felt we had good meeting, it was a good feeling in there. Great to meet them. Ready to get to work now.
*I've always been confident in my ability. I know I can rise to occasion. I'm ready for next step and here we are.
*You still have to go up and catch ball, beyond speed. If you can't get off press it doesn't mean much if you can run 4.2. I'm not a 4.3 guy, but I don't get caught from behind.
*I consider myself student of game. I always know what I'm doing, knowing coverages, know how to adjust.
*I wouldn't say I model my game after anyone, I have my own style.
*I see myself fitting in perfectly with Packers receivers. They can teach me a lot going in. This can be best wideout group in NFL.
*I definitely love catching balls, the more the better. Will try to fit in in Green Bay, be another piece to the program.
*They say this is one of deepest receiver classes, great to be a part of it.
*I miss basketball, I grew up a basketball guy. I play every now and then in offseason. It helped me. Growing up it was second nature to go up getting rebound and high pointing ball. Also spacing, you have to know how you fit in and spread out.
*Meeting with Packers, it was amazing being around that type of vibe. Some of meetings I was in with other teams, coaches weren't as excited. I could tell I could get along with Packers coaches.
*I'm ready for cold weather. Coldest game I ever played in was 10 degrees against Nevada in Reno, or Colorado State we had a snow game. Both games I had great games.
