Packers general manager Ted Thompson talks to media after Day 2 of NFL draft:

*I like (Adams) a lot. He can catch the ball. That's something we look very closely at when we look at receivers and tight ends. He's remarkable at that. He'll fit in with our group very well.

*On second-round receiver selections: Athletically they are similar. Good ball skills. They're good people.

*On Khyri Thornton: We think he will bring some juice.

*On taking offensive players: We take the best player.

*Receviers come in all sizes and shapes, remarkable number were productive.

*On selection of TE Rodgers, it doesn't necessarily mean Jermichael Finley won't be back. He hasn't been ruled out.

*You might think you're all fat and happy today but by time we get them to camp, we've got (injuries). All of a sudden you don't have those guys. Best policy is to stay with quality as much as you can, regardless of position.

*There were phone calls, there were offers made, by us a few times, by other teams. It just never worked out.

*We feel there's value in compensatory picks. We keep in mind what's going on, what we've done, what we haven't done in free agency.

*Picking Thornton isn't tied to Jolly or Pickett futures.

*I feel good about our D-line group.
