Warhawks eliminate Pointers baseball team from WIAC tournament

Top-seeded University of Wisconsin-Whitewater beat UW-Stevens Point 8-1 on Saturday afternoon, which eliminated the third-seeded Pointers from the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament.

The Pointers (29-11) will find out Monday whether they have earned a spot in the NCAA Division III Midwest Regional, which begins Wednesday.

The loss dropped the Pointers to 1-4 against the Warhawks this season. UWSP dropped three of four games in back-to-back doubleheaders in Whitewater on April 17 and 18. ...
