Cubs squeeze out win in opener

Institute pulled off a suicide squeeze in the 11th inning to beat Washington Island, 5-4, Sunday in a Door County League baseball game.

In other season openers, defending champion Egg Harbor held off Baileys Harbor, 9-5; Sister Bay defeated West Jacksonport, 8-2; and Kolberg beat Maplewood, 8-2.

AT INSTITUTE: After two walks and an infield hit in the bottom of the 11th, Institute broke a 4-4 tie and ended the game with a run off of a suicide squeeze bunt by Aaron Ash. ...
