Record rainfall produces flooding in the Fox Valley

Heavy rains kept sump pumps humming and turned ditches into miniature rivers on Monday.

Emergency officials said that while the rain surge created some difficulties amid this unusually soggy spring, the record-setting rainfall wasn't enough to raise any major flooding concerns in the region.

Monday's rainfall took a toll on several Fox Valley ponds and storm sewers. Flood waters overtook the intersection of Casaloma and Grande Market drives in Grand Chute for several hours. And the rain created swamp-like stretches north of U.S. 41 in and near Plamann Park. ...
