Green Bay Mayor Jim Schmitt is suggesting a two-story Walmart downtown that would allow the retailer to build a mega-sized store without using the entire piece of property.

Schmitt said he could support a 150,000-square-foot superstore in the Broadway shopping district if it was built as a two-story structure taking up half as much acreage.

That would allow Walmart to build the size store it wants, while still leaving room for other mixed development at the Larsen Green industrial site, Schmitt said. ...
