More than 12,000 years ago, a huge glacier carved out a unique landscape across Wisconsin. Now a group of volunteers plans to carve out a portion of a trail that pays homage to that landscape.

The Lakeshore chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance is scheduled to construct a 1-mile-long Ice Age Trail segment between Hillview and Rock Ledge roads north of Mishicot from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on July 23-27.

The trail winds along the East Twin River and past stands of cedars, farmland and floodplain. The project will add an off-road, marked trail and eliminate about three miles of unmarked road walks. ...
