Former University of Wisconsin Marathon County Dean Jim Veninga will be honored this week at a tribute service at the campus in Wausau.

Some of the marks Veninga left on the community are intangible. He actively worked to strengthen the campus's ties with the broader community and position it as a place not only for scholarship but for forums, conversations and reflections on issues of public concern.
