Committee aims to recognize Pioneer Women

Husband and wife couples were the stalwart force behind America's first farms. That still holds true today, and the family farm is more important than ever before.

It is important to recognize those women who have contributed to their farm and farming overall are truly outstanding. As the often "silent half" of the operation, these women deserve attention.

Such recognition also inspires young women to view farming as a legitimately desirable way to leave their "mark" on the world, helping ensure the future of farm families. In the end, it all comes down to the quality of our people. ...
