The fourth annual Renaissance Race Against Cancer 5K Run/Walk will take place June 14. Nearly 1,000 people are expected to take part in this professionally chip-timed race that will start and finish in front of Renaissance Learning, 2911 Peach St., Wisconsin Rapids.

The 5K Run/Walk begins at 9 a.m. A free Kids' Quarter-Mile Run for youths ages 10 and younger will be held at 8:30 a.m. Parents must register each child on race day. All kids who finish receive an award.

Money goes directly to local patients through the Cancer Patient Fund at the UW Cancer Center-Riverview. Funds help patients with transportation, nutritional needs, medication co-pays and other expenses related to cancer care.

Register online for $30 or at the race site from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event. For online registration and event details, go to www.renaissancerace.com.
