This weekend, the state of Wisconsin has its annual Free Fishing Days and open house at all state parks on June 7 and 8.

On these two days, a fishing license is not required in Wisconsin waters, and a state park vehicle sticker is not required to enter any of the 50 in Wisconsin, including the four mainland ones in Door County and Rock Island State Park off the tip of Washington Island.

PENINSULA

Peninsula is luring visitors for its Free Fishing Days activities with a special 600-gallon aquarium stocked by Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Fisheries biologists with smallmouth and rock bass, as well as other native species. It will be on display from the afternoon of June 6 through early June 9.

The nature center at Peninsula State Park is just off Wisconsin 42 in Fish Creek. Most programs are free and open to the public, but a state park sticker is required for entry. For nature center hours or more information, call (920) 854-5976.
