In the past few weeks, this column has featured entrepreneur Tricia Rose, owner of Rose Publishing and SCORE's Green Bay Packer Mentor/ Protégé client. Rose has certification as a woman-owned business, but has not experienced much benefit from the designation.

Anna Steinfest, CEO and President of AFF Research, the group that manages the Mentor/ Protégé program, is one of the area's foremost experts in woman-, minority- and veteran-owned business certification. She sees the advantages in certification, but acknowledges that not every business will benefit.
