Say what? Williams says Cowboys can win 9 in a row

Well, at least give Dallas receiver Roy Williams credit for keeping his head up in the midst of the Cowboys’ miserable 1-6 start. Williams, whose team invades Lambeau Field to face the Packers Sunday night, continues to talk about the Cowboys having a chance to not only make the playoffs, but get to the Super Bowl. Say what? “We can go nine in a row, if you ask me," Williams told ESPNDallas.com on Thursday. "People can call me stupid or whatever, but this football team has the core of players, it has the supporting cast of players to win nine in row.” The website notes that the 1970 Cincinnati Bengals are the only team in NFL history to rebound from a 1-6 start to make the playoffs. Nine straight wins is a tall task considering there are six teams with winning records, including the Packers, on the Cowboys’ schedule. "It would be a great storybook ending," Williams said. "It would be awesome. I don't know if they'd put us in the Hall of Fame for that if this [team] was going to go on and win the Super Bowl, but it's a tough feat to cross. But if there is any team in the league that can do it, it's the Dallas Cowboys." Perhaps Williams has been smacked upside the head one too many times during his career. Perhaps Williams suffering through those losing seasons with the Detroit Lions took their toll on his psyche. Perhaps it’s better to be delusional rather than depressed over the Cowboys’ current situation. "I've just been a believer, man," Williams said. "I've just been a believer in this football team. I don't know if everybody's believing, but I think once we win one, two, three in a row, then it's on. This is the team that we're supposed to be."
